Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are Student Notes?

Student Notes are those red study guides you may see around campus. We offer study guides for many classes offerred at the University of Georgia. The study guides are compiled by students enrolled in the class with a G.P.A. of at least 3.4. Included are the student's notes from lecture, illustrations, and information from other sources.

Note: We recommend these study guides be used as a supplement and not a substitute for attending class. Student Notes™ are not required material. If there are any discrepancies, please follow your instructor’s information.

7. What are supplements and how do I get them?

Because Student Notes are made available about five days before the test, there may be two or three lectures not included in the notes. The supplement containing the missing lectures are included in the purchase price. All you need to do is bring in the set of Student Notes with the cover intact as proof of purchase. Supplemental notes are made available the day after the class occurs. In some cases, notes are given up until the day before the test. When this is the case, they will be made available in the evening after class.

Note: reviews are not usually given out as a supplement by Student Notes because the material is already in the packet.

8. Where do you get your notetakers?

We hire students at UGA with a G.P.A. of at least 3.4 as notetakers. Whenever possible we hire students who are majoring in the same field as the class in which they are taking notes. Notetakers who get great evaluations from our editors are rehired each semester.

9. How can I work for Student Notes?

If you are a currently enrolled student at UGA with a G.P.A. of at least 3.4 go ahead and fill out an application. We hire new notetakers at the beginning of each semester. Go ahead and apply as soon as you know your schedule. You can also fill out an application in person at Baxter Street Bookstore.
